This is not a new track, nor a rare one. It was released in 2015 by Monophonics, which is a rather popular band and it really isn't some super-wow discovery, but it's the melody that's stuck on my player these past days and the kickass tune I feel like ending this year with.
May every person in the world find his way back home this year, wherever that is.

If there's one tune in the world for which I would bet there's no way it could give a bad edit, EVER, that should be "I love music" by the O'Jays. So uplifting, melodic and happy, you just can't miss.
Nope. You can't.

Ben. E. King passed last year and the moment I heard, all my teenage years started a slideshow before my eyes. Stand by me -song and movie- was one of my favorite ones as a kid and I couldn't help but reviewing all these teen loves at the time of his death, like most people raised in the '80s.
This incredible soul singer paid me a musical visit the other day, as I was listening to Fingerman's "Your love".
Ben.E.King's "Supernatural thing" sends a groovy message from the past to the future through Fingerman and I'm a teen again.
Cool way to start the weekend.

It's that time of year, again. The time that sun, sand and sea are your constant companion. The time that all the shit around you seem a little bit better. The time to relax, which as you get older, seems so indispensable. The time that absolutely tones in with this kind of beat.
Ahhh! Finally.

Man, how I've missed a good old house party, with no glamorous outfits, glitter and people wanting to be seen, just pure disco-house lovers, dance, love and top-notch, tickling tunes inspired by the '70s. Like this one.
GMGN did a great job on Freda Payne's "I get high", gave it just the right amount of beat and filters, enough to make us old people feel nostalgic again about the time when house would kiss your ass and leave a giant footprint on it.

Today is the first day after 11 days, I can actually sit (and not lie) down, turn the pc on, write a few words and listen to some music, feeling (close to) healthy. Between surgeries, hospitals and doctors, I haven't listened to one single sound -besides that of my cell phone- in 11 days. Eleven days, man.
Takin' it slow and dubby.

What happens when you dig a tune, but you are opposed to the attitude and mentality it comes along with?
I loved Gil Scott Heron's work through the years, but never appreciated -among other stuff- his homophobic poem-song "The subject was faggots" that is being used in Leon Revol's tune right here -and to tell you the truth, it kind of always oppressed my love for his talent and music, cause I like to admire a person and an artist as a whole, not just for a part of his personality that is expressed as a certain kind of talent.
But this tune has that something that lets spring in and leaves you with an old skool touch. So leavin' the "faggot" thing aside, I'm keepin' the tune and pretend it talks about maggots going to a ball.

One of my beloved producers from the past, Joey Negro, had this take on George Benson's "Love will come again". A house legend meets a musical genius and for about 7,5 minutes, nothing else matters.
There's certainly a good, inspiring, solid base, but you can feel Joey Negro's intense touch throughout. And the bass... Oh, that bass!
I think I'll make this a Joey Negro and the Sunburst Band day.

Yesterday, after many-many years of having dug Ashley Beedle deep into my longterm music memory, I came across this oh-so-sweet tune, in collaboration with Lay-Far and Darren Morris, totally opposite from my first love.
Love them both equally.
Check out the whole EP from Local Talk, here. Kicks ass.

When I was younger, I would always put music on while getting ready to go out. Turn the volume up and go on with the procedures, while movin' to the rhythm. These days, being quite busy and all grown up and shit, I'm always doin' things in a rush, tryin' to make everything on time, so this youthful -and quite exhilarating I must say- habit of mine is kind of long gone. But I think I'll try it again today with this. I feel like it.
Saturday night and all.

It's really close to the second coming or something outside, with all-day darkness and freaking cold. But inside, I can almost smell flowers and see sunlight in the form of notes.
New, favorite soul collective from London has made my whole damn week with soul, blues-y, funky-ish tunes with their 2 albums I've just dug out and it kind of reminds me of an older, loved one (Menahan Street Band), which I've totally forgot all about the past years. Ladies and Gentlemen, the Ephemerals.
I've been sitting here quite a while, headphones on, listening to tunes from "Nothin' is Easy" and their latest "Chasin Ghosts", tryin' to figure out which one I want to share, so as to be certain that you'll get the feeling just from one tune. Couldn't make it. So there you go.
Not over yet.
If this voice really exists in this world, what the hell have been listening to all this time?
