It's that time of year, again. The time that sun, sand and sea are your constant companion. The time that all the shit around you seem a little bit better. The time to relax, which as you get older, seems so indispensable. The time that absolutely tones in with this kind of beat.

Beach, please!

If you asked me two days ago, I'd say this is the worst summer ever. But when all go wrong, something has to be right, right? Right. So with the so fully anticipated vacation on the way, vacation which I came very close to missing completely this year, I finally feel it's time to just let everything be and head to a fine beach, with good company and the best music I can gather up in a very short time. And this is the beat I wanna follow in this year's summer vacation.

Sand in my hair, camping in the shade of trees, relaxing hammock, strawberry tart with cream and chocolate, urchin spines in my toe (every damn summer), snorkeling, iced vodka, delicious salmon, wet bathing suit, ridiculous dives, fucking huge rocks on the beach, summer theatre, strolls, worn-out flip-flops, aromatic sunscreen and lots of music to support all of the above.



Yeah, I 'd do it again.

Get off your chair (that assprint on the seat can’t get any bigger), grab your bathing suit (even if it’s baggy and 100 years old), leave those four fucking, depressing walls behind (and paint them sometime for fuck’s sake), give your pc a chance to rest and turn it off (it's been months since the last time you actually clicked "turn off") and fill your usb stick/player/whatever with music that will make your heart fly around inside your body. Now shut the door behind you, kidnap your loved one or ones and spot the most crowded, loud and trendy beach near you. Found it? Pass it over. Somewhere near that, there must be a small bay only for you, your party and your music. Go from coast to coast and you ’ll find it. Sure thing.

Son of a beach

I haven't seen or felt her in almost a year. I missed her feeling, her smell, her coolness and freshness, but most of all I missed her sense of freedom. She may have her ups and downs, but if you know how to handle her, there's no way you won't enjoy the experience she has to offer. Talking about the sea. Wicked-minded.

So, before I take off to meet her, I 'll leave you with two tracks that I 've always related to summer.


This one feels more like summer morning and I utterly love what's going on at about 3.30 onwards.
 


This one is more of an old-skooler (ok, serious goose bumps) and I believe it has more of a sunset feeling.

Thought of the day: Is the sea feminine or masculine? In greek it's a feminine (well she almost has a son, doesn't she?), but I'd say masculine since it can be both tender and brutal. Well, who cares? It's fun. I'm off to the beach people.

Summerish Black Seeds

The sun sensation spreads all over your body, your eyes are closed behind the sunglasses, the extra cool coffee with ice is well-protected under the shadow of the umbrella and this song is on the repeat, along with the sound of tiny waves reaching the shore.

Ok, now you can wake up. Good thing is you can press play as many times as you like to the Black Seeds and this amazing, summerish, soul-infused track and choose a different scenery each time - I think I'll stick to the beach though.
