Getting there

Sometimes happy tunes sound odd, while melancholic ones come easier to ears and soul.

I usually prefer the other way around, but thank God for Edward Vanzet when things are shitty.

Yo Australia!

If you like Breakbot then you'll sure as hell like this.

LeBRON is Sam Roney from -surprise, suprise- Australia, he's into electronic funk and I'm into him in the most pure, melodic and musical way there is.

Especially when this reached my ears, with awesome samples and flow.

Enjoy your Sunday.

Roots jungle

Spring days always bring out in me (and about 90% of world population with access to music) a more intense need for reggae -this could be a serious hint. And this. This year, it hit me a bit differently.

Reggae vibe (Alborosie sampled), drum'n'bass rhythm, highs'n'lows, sweet melody, no harsh parts, summerish feeling, absolute musical sunshine... What the hell am I still doing here?

*Check out Slynk's tunes here. This Australian dude is all about the funk and the breaks.

Ice Ice _ _ _ _ _

This sounds NOTHING like the shitty Monday I just had, but fits prefectly to this very hour, the beloved relax hour, just before the day ends.

Mr. Luke Million seems to have made a really ace sound which is also available for a free download and can make a real party starter.

Check out his page and find your own sounds. There's no way you won't find something you dig in there, from sets, edits, remixes, reposts and stuff.

Fairy tune

In coherence with the previous post's tune, this one comes from Thrupence who probably is related to Edward Vanzet -I'm no Poirot, but Jack Vanzet and Edward Vanzet, both from Melbourne, has to mean something.

So lovin' the fairy tale '30s or '40s intro, the sample, the beat, the atmosphere, the vocals, everything about it. The whole album Lessons is about to be released on September 26th, so watch for it. And have a great week full of fine tunes. :-)

September Sunday night in notes

If I had to pick a tune that reflects how a September Sunday night feels like, I probably couldn't think of anything closer to this mood than this piece of awesomeness.

Bitter, sweet, melancholic, cuddling, emotional, slothful, cool. All these mixed together and put to notes from the other hemisphere once again, by this talented dude, Edward Vanzet, who is about to release his first album titled "Lichen".

Have I ever told you how much I love Australian producers? I bet I have.

Friday bass

You know how hooked on bass I am, right? If the answer is yes, you'll probably have a vague idea of what's going on in here right now with this gem.

Uploaded about 3 weeks ago and offered with a free download by djbrevil (Australia strikes again), this tune will definitely give my Friday a boost. Hope yours too.

Hung up

I didn't wanna say anything, but I think my internet connection and my pc are getting a divorce. That's why I haven't been around a lot this week. I do sneak into the internet from laptops and smartphones, but I prefer my good ol' desktop pc to do my thing. I'll leave you with this top-notch tune, available for free download, for the next few days though, till I get things back in order.

Isaac Hayes in the hands of SLMDNK in a more up-tempo, pitched version that goes with spring-ish weather and smiling faces. Find the original track here and pick the one that can make you sway the most.

Two juicy parts

Australia strikes back with an edit on Mtume's "Juicy fruit" by a favorite of mine, Late Night Tuff Guy (maybe this will refresh your memory).

LNTG himself said he did this edit 2 years ago, but the outcome wasn't satisfying (I'll have to try and take it as a possible incident) so he worked on it. And worked on it. And he came up with this updated version, consisted of two parts (second part kicks off at around 7:00).

If I had to choose between the two parts, I think I'd go with the first one. It feels more juicy, more vivid, more vibrant, but for some reason I can't split it in half as I listen to it. I enjoy all 14 minutes every single time. Every-single-time.

Soul recipe

With one touch of Bamboos taste and Kylie Auldist's aroma, Dojo Cuts make one more bullet in the long list of Australia's contemporary funkish, soulful artists. And this one is perfectly soothing for a mid-week crisis.

I think I'll stick with these guys for a while, instead of all these funk starlettes that we get one after another, with a dubious background and love for music.
