Road trip

Last summer I went on a road trip to Italy. About 3.700 km in 2 weeks time. Tuscany, Umbria, Liguria and then off to Sardegna. Sounds kick-ass, cause it was.

Bad thing was, this wasn't released yet.

It would have been awesome in our soundtrack.

Groovy people

Everyobody -well, almost everybody- has their own groove. And by groove I mean a certain rhythm, a certain swing that comes out in everyday life and is most recognizable when in tune with music, but can also be sensed by the way we walk, talk, laugh, move, sway, dance.

In some cases, our groove can also be sprung from other people. And these people need to be kept close to us no matter what.

Bobby Patterson can explain it better. And with a groove.

Freaking back

After two weeks full of pictures, sand, laughter, swimming, sun, rest, food, drinks, books, coffee and loads of good music and love, I'm back to my base, charged and all, carrying among other things an ear infection as a souvenir. So I might have a defective right ear at the moment, but I can certainly hear the sweet sound of The Emotions.

The sisters along with a little help from Earth Wind & Fire really get it on. My ear just popped!

Dude's track

If I were a dude I'd definitely make good use of this tune to get the chick I'd have my eyes on -and probably fail dramatically with this sound in 2014.

But since I ain't, I'll still make good use of this awesome rare track by relaxing and enjoyin' it, the few hours I have free these days.

Still a man's world

One of the greatest songs ever written, sung and performed is being a little bit -actually a lot- reformed so as to fit into the house music norms.

This is the Sound Diggers' take on James Brown's "It's a man's man's man's world". I admit it won't make me forget the original version -I believe nothing ever will and I don't think anyone will attempt that- but it's a decent job, able to bring this tune into the dancefloors for those can't dance to the blues.

Who's a Christmas person?

There's a Xmas track that doesn't make me hurl, doesn't involve high-pitched, synchronized kids' voices, has nothing to do with Christmas carols and does not involve the oh-my-god-take-me-now triangle sound from hell.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind Christmas. It's the jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way (to hell) thing that I would like to vanish. And I prefer Otis Redding to keep me musical company, whose version of this '47 tune is my favorite.

Have a good time y'all.
Eat like there's no tomorrow and select beautiful -for your soul- sounds.
