Unforgettable revival

There's an amazing thing goin' on with today's track. It combines a doo-wop feeling of the '50s, with contemporary hip-hop beats and some french touch with high-pitched vocals. And the best part? It doesn't sound weird. At all.



Racyne here, sampled Nat King Cole's Unforgettable and seems that can make today's youngsters move with a little bit of undercover '50s feeling.

There it is and it feels so good

Remember Shalamar? Ezlv remembered them too and made a fresh tune out of one of their popular tracks, "There it is". A tune that makes you feel grateful that people are so different and can have such diverse views on a piece of music, that can bring an old, forgotten track back into your reality, so freshened-up that you can smell it.



Surely the original tune established a strong base to build upon, but still the outcome feels like you're rolling in fresh grass, just like when you were 8.

Love&soul

Year after year things get harder and harder. After a whole lotta smiles that turned into laughters, disappointments that turned into creativity (or in tears -I'm only human), beginnings, endings, dances, anxieties, fights, hugs, struggling, winning and losing, this gal had a cozy birthday yesterday. And I have to say that only one thing remains the solid truth in my mind and my life: sharing our love is so much better than not sharing it at all.

Emmett Garner Jr. couldn't have put it better.

Duff Disco world

First time I listened to Duff Disco ever was in a disco party in a bar in Athens, where Greg Wilson was the guest dj. What I can’t seem to remember is whether the Duff Disco track, that brought me into the Duff Disco world that night, was played by Wilson or the warm-up dj (who I can't remeber either). But I believe that is of no importance.

The track was one of those tunes that leave you standing there enjoyin' them, while you're tryin' to pinpoint the sample which you're absolutely certain you'll be able to dig outta your long-term memory if everybody and everything paused for just one sec. It was the "Return of the Duff" and -thank goodness- I almost instantly (had a little stroke first) recognized the sample from the "Return of the Mack", which I deeply loved back in school when it was released. When I got back home (or the other day probably) I googled edits on it and found the specific edit and the producer. From then on –that was about 4 or 5 years ago, which now that I think of it means that I should be concerned that I don’t remember things clearly today- I always check out this talented producer.

So I thought I’d share with you a list of tracks that Duff Disco shares with everybody who loves his music and want to download it either for free or donating whatever they want to support him and his music. Check them out people and if you have the ability to spare a few pounds on decent music, do it.

This is what Frankie was doin' in 1987, inspired by Billy Paul, when we were kids and still hooked on Muppet Show and Smurfs.

Satoshie Tomiie, Robert Owens and of course Frankie Knuckles made "Tears" happen. I can still feel like a teenager when I listen to the Full Intention mix.

Frankie Knuckles playin' "The light" causin' delirium to the crowd. I'm so thankful I lived this kind of moment too, one of the three times I had the honor of enjoyin' his tunes live.

So long, Mr. Knuckles. Thank you for your music.
I still hope this is a very bad April Fools' joke.
